Born in Regina, Saskatchewan, Cheryl’s life was never one of privilege. She was the middle child between two brothers and yearned for love and recognition. From an early age, she exhibited a rebellious spirit, craving attention and pushing boundaries. By the age of 13, she had left home, determined to carve her own path in the world.
Her teenage years were anything but conventional. Arrested at 14 for selling drugs in a bar, she was forced to face the harsh reality of her choices. By 16, she was pregnant; by 17, married; and by 19, divorced, raising two children on her own after enduring the pain of domestic violence and financial instability. Yet, rather than succumbing to her circumstances, she chose to rise.
Building a Career Against All Odds
Despite being a high school dropout with no financial backing, Cheryl clung to a dream—building a career in the beauty industry. But achieving this dream required immense sacrifice. The nearest beauty school was 400 miles away, and the only way forward was for her to leave her children with her parents while she pursued her education.
Determined, she funded her studies by selling stitchery at night through a home party plan. Her unwavering focus led her to complete her course in half the time, graduating with honors. The pain of leaving her children was unbearable, but she knew that the short-term sacrifice would lead to long-term security for her family.
